Day 1: Welcome on board Penne Bianche! Boarding will be at Paroikià bay in Paros where your amazing sailing holiday starts. You can rent the boat for exclusive use if you like more privacy and itinerary freedom or per cabin and share the sailing holiday with other guests. A welcome cocktail will be offered and you will get to know your crew that will show you the boat. Provisions will be already stored on board so you will be able to enjoy total relax. The luggage will be placed in the cabins before sailing.

Day 2: After a rich breakfast, once boarded the last minute provisions, the cruise starts toward Sifnos (20 miles), where we’ll arrive in the afternoon, anchor in the round bay of Vathy. There, we can swim and go for a tour to the Chora Apollonia, which can be reached by bus. It’s built on three hills and therefore really facinating. It’s a typical Cycladic kind of architecture with white painted houses and narrow lanes. Kastro, the old main town, still based on a medieval plan, is not far away. A nice aperitif can’t be missing on board Penne Bianche where the cuisine is one of the most intriguing aspects of this dream cruise.

Day 3: A swim is always recommended before a rich breakfast prepared by the crew and served in the cockpit. We sail towards the islet of Poliagos (ca. 10 miles), a totally deserted island where the cliffs and its white and multicolored rocks offer a show that leaves everyone speechless. It is considered one of the best preserved islands from the geological point of view in the Aegean Sea. Its unspoiled flora and fauna have made Poliagos scientifically and ecologically important and it belongs to the “Natura 2000” program. The island offers beautiful beaches that can only be known and explored with a sailing boat. We will moor overnight in a sheltered cove or in nearby Kimolos.

Day 4: We start sailing early morning after breakfast to Folegandros (about 20 miles). It’s love at first sight as soon as we approach the little port. In Folegandros, the water is truly transparent. After a swim, a snack and some relax, we get ready for an excursion to the Chora. You have the feeling of having slipped into a time machine that takes you back perhaps in the 1950s, when the days were marked only by the rhythms of the sun and the stars and the island was practically unknown. The most amazing surprise is revealed when you get to the Chora, perched on a rocky plateau 300 meters high and 3 km from the port. The village is considered to be among the most seductive and fascinating in the Cyclades. It is gathered around three small squares that parade one after the other and in the alleys that stretch and intertwine with each other. The most precious part is the Kastro, the medieval fortified district to defend against pirates. Dinner will be having in the village.

Day 5: A pleasant sailing with fair winds will take us to Thira. This famous island differs in its geological morphology due to its extinct volcano. The landscape in the western part is spectacular: the huge and steep rocky boulders overlooking the sea with the caldera are embellished by the white houses perched on their top. A real spectacular view coming from the sea. After sailing inside the caldera we anchor in Akrotiri in the southern part of the island. Here the ruins of a Minoan city were discovered, destroyed around 1500 B.C. from the outbreak of the Thira volcano. It is a prehistoric Pompeii buried by volcanic ashes with two or three-storey houses, squares, warehouses, laboratories. Dinner in the cockpit is prepared by your skipper with fish specialties.

Day 6: A day will be dedicated to visit the island with a scooter or a car rental. Thira is the capital, a very picturesque town with its maze of alleys, arcades and the Frankish quarter. Its museum is very relevant. Fascinating is the view towards Kamares, the two very black islets born from the volcano. The traditional village Oia, 11 km north of Thira is a unique beauty. Small houses carved in the yielding rock, some white and others colored in blue or ocher, neoclassical stately homes with courtyards, narrow cobbled streets make up the peculiar aspect. The view towards the sea is impressive.

Day 7: Sailing in the caldera and last swim before landing in the afternoon. See you for your next sailing holiday in the Cyclades.
