Ideal itinerary for those who love sailing, the wind here is constant and allows us to sail pleasantly. The discovery of an island coming from the sea is exciting!
Welcome on board Penne Bianche! Boarding will be in Pytagorion, Samos where your amazing sailing holiday starts. You can rent the boat for exclusive use if you like more privacy and itinerary freedom or per cabin and share the sailing holiday with other travellers. A cocktail will be offered and you will get to know your crew that will show you the boat. Provisions will be already stored on board so you will be able to enjoy total relax. The luggage will be placed in the cabin before to visit this main town of the island. Pytagorion is a delightful crescent-shaped port, bordered by an amphitheater of pastel-colored houses with red-tiled roofs and countless taverns on the harbor front.
Departure after breakfast to Arki (about 12 miles). The tiny port with about 70 inhabitants is located in the innermost point of a fjord protected at the entrance by other islets. The houses of this one village are all built of stone and without plaster. There are beautiful spots to anchor between the various islets in transparent and blue water. Penne Bianche is a “Owner’s boat”, it means care, efficiency and impeccable cleanliness. We continue to sail to Patmos, the island with the imposing monastery of Aghios Ioannis which dominates the port in the heart of the hill. Visit ashore before living an experience of true gourmets with the cuisine on board!
20 miles south of Patmos we meet Levitha on the route between the Dodecanese Islands and Cyclades Islands. It’s a rocky limestone cliff with some coves. Levitha was well known both by the ancient Venetian captains and by the scouts of Leros who used it as a makeshift landing during the war. Today only a family lives there, they have opened a tavern in their farm house and offer anchorages with buoys for passing boats in a protected bay. The shelter is excellent in a very wild and peaceful setting protected from the winds. Only on the top of the hill there is a signal for mobile phones … Unspoiled nature without any light pollution! Penne Bianche is an elegant, fast but very stable hull, it can offer maximum comfort to sailing holidays lovers.
After a rich breakfast on board we sail to Amorgos (about 30 miles). Lunch on board, not far from a little church nearby the water and mooring at Katapola. No-one should miss a tour of the island, especially a visit to the famous monastery of the Panaghia Chozoviotissa, completely built into the living rock. We then visit the Chora, that rises all around a Venetian castle, with lime painted houses, little churches and a museum. Also the northern part of the island, the picturesque Egiali, can be reached on foot, through its three white as snow villages and well known for its sandy beaches. On September and October, when the sun isn’t so hot, the island offers the chance for many walking tours along paths with wonderful panoramic views.
We leave Amorgos to head to the heart of the Small Cyclades. Rent a sailboat with skipper! You will thus be able to discover incredible coves hidden in rocky ravines, with white sand with crystal clear waters. The Small Cyclades are all beautiful: Koufunisi, Schinousa, Iraklia, Keros, Antikeros. We will anchor in Pori, one of the most spectacular bays in the whole Aegean Sea. Afternoon dedicated to swimming and walking ashore to discover hidden caves that will be shown to you by the professional crew. One of the most intriguing aspects of this dream cruise is the cooking: tagliatelle with prawns for menu.
Sailing to Paros (about 20 miles) and anchor with a stop for a swim and lunch at the three islets of Pantieronisi, between Paros and Antiparos, with transparent waters and white sand tongues.
Last miles to reach Parikia in Paros and late in the morning we end our cruise between the Dodecanese and Cyclades Islands. We are waiting for you on board Penne Bianche for an upcoming cruise in the Greek islands!
