A transfer cruise with about thirty miles of daily sailing takes us to visit different scenarios, not crowded with sailboats in a fascinating natural environment. We sail north to reach the North Aegean Sea to search more intact places and away from the sail charters routes. In this itinerary we reach the beautiful and enchanting Sporades Islands: the magic is colored with emerald.
Welcome on board Penne Bianche! Boarding will be in Paros where your amazing sailing holiday starts. You will get to know your crew that will show you the boat. Provisions will be already stored on board so you will be able to enjoy total relax. The luggage will be placed in the cabin before we start your sailing cruise in the Cyclades Islands.
Penne Bianche is an elegant yacht fast but with great stability. She can offer the maximun comfort to Greek sailing holidays lovers and today she takes us to Syros. We anchor in the port of Ermoupoli, the capital of all the Cyclades. Ermoupoli is built as an amphitheater with neoclassical buildings, old stately homes but also very white houses that descend to the port. She boasts many churches, an archaeological museum and monasteries.
After breakfast we set sail towards north along the west side of Andros. A very green island to be one of the Cyclades, Andros offers some truly enchanting sandy beaches, pretty old villages and a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. It is the second largest island in the Cyclades Islands and the most northerly: it boasts high mountains and deep fertile valleys where vines and olive trees grow. Its bays are beautiful: constant currents and winds ensure clean waters. We anchor in Batsi, probably the most vital and popular center of the island, although much quieter than other tourist centers in the Cyclades.
From here we will decide our route to the Sporades Islands depending on the weather. We can take a more direct route north with a stop on the island of Skiros, part of the Sporades islands or a route more protected from the winds between the large Euboean island and the coast of Greece. Euboea (Evia) is mountainous, very green with sudden changes in landscapes. Its mountains are rich with pines and firs, picturesque villages clinging to their slopes, rivers and fertile valleys full of orchards. The coasts are protected from the winds and they have wonderful sandy beaches but also bare rocks and picturesque fishing ports. A narrow passage of just 40 meters separates Euboea from the rest of Greece where a strong current is formed, the famous passage of Euripo. On Euripo there’s a mobile bridge for the passage of ships and it connects the island to the mainland and behind the bridge there’s the beautiful town of Chalkidie. We will anchor in the places of greatest interest up to Skiatos, the main island of the Sporades Islands and our final destination of this cruise.
Late in the morning the end of our itinerary. The 2020 cruise program continues north with the islands of the North East Aegean, very interesting places to discover on board Penne Bianche.
