It’s a nice, smooth cruise in a very sheltered sea. The archipelago has various islands, some of which are bigger, some are historically quite important and others are smaller, with lovely beaches and villages. The greenery is dense everywhere. During this cruise you can really enjoy the summer temperatures already at the end of May!
This cruise is planned at the end of May and mid-October with boarding and landing in Corfu and Zakyntos, where the links by plain/ferry-boat are very good.
Saturday
Welcome on board Penne Bianche! The boarding is planned around 18, this sailing holiday is suggested to anyone who enjoys quiet sailings in calm waters. Welcome cocktail on board, setting the luggage and dinner ashore.
Sunday
Corfu. After breakfast, visit of the main town and port of the island. It’s the biggest medieval city of Greece and one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean Sea. The mixture of the different cultural elements gives a peculiar charm to this place. Intresting architectural influences from abroad and different styles melt together and balance with the local colour and the amazing nature, creating a perfect aesthetic result. Once collected some supplies, the sailing cruise starts, sailing to Paxos (20 miles). Dock at the picturesque village of Gaios or moore in the splendid bay of Lakka, where the water is so clear it seems like the boat is floating in the air!
Monday
After a rich breakfast we’ll sail till the bridge of Santa Maura, that links the land to the island of Lefkada (30 miles). Sailed through the channel we’ll go South, along the coast and the little islands of Sparti and Skorpios. Dock in Meganisithick vegetation and archeological sites. Gourmet dinner on board tagliatelle allo scoglio!
Tuesday
Sailing inbetween Kalamos and Kantos to reach Itaka (20 miles), famous due to Homer’s epic poem, Odyssey, mythical and symbolic spot. The western side of the island is mountainous, without trees, while the eastern side is covered of vegetation and smoothly joins the seaside. Dock in Vathy, tiny, lovely village situated in a safe gulf. During the low-season the skipper will be the cook on board and the guests will cooperate in order to manage all the aspects of the sailing life.
Wednesday
Sail on Penne Bianche, laying down on its deck made of teak wood is a real pleasure! We reach Cefalonia (20 miles), generously gifted by nature herself, set of rare geological phenomenon, with misterious caves, termal sources and underground waters. It has beautiful beaches, colourful villages and important archeological ruins. Visit on land and then a real gourmet experience having dinner on board!
Thursday
Cefalonia. Possibility of excursion ashore, renting a car to visit the island or sailing (25 miles) to Argostoli, port and mail town. There are many interesting buildings still holding to their ancient elegance, big squares and picturesque areas. The skipper organises the itineraries according to the weather conditions and the preferences of her guests, suggesting the most interesting destinations.
Friday
The cruise sails on to Zakyntos (30 miles), “The East flower” according to the Venetians. Discover its natural beauties… with the turtle caretta-caretta. Its western coasts are smooth, while the eastern are steap and rocky, with spectacular coves. Weather permitting, we’ll sail and stop to the very famous beach “Navagio”, known as one of the most beautiful in the world. In the late afternoon we’ll dock in the main port of the island. Dinner ashore.
Saturday
